Jabbarov says TRIPP corridor will boost Middle Corridor connectivity
The transport route linking mainland Azerbaijan with its exclave of Nakhchivan, known internationally as TRIPP (Transport Route for International Peace and Prosperity), is important not only for Azerbaijani exports but also for broader regional connectivity, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said.
Speaking during a dialogue held on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank’s annual meetings in Baku, Jabbarov said the project would improve the efficiency of the Middle Corridor and strengthen transport links between Central Asia, China, Turkey and Europe.
He said one of the two industrial zones being developed in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories was focused specifically on transport and logistics services.
According to Jabbarov, alongside agriculture and tourism, industrial development remains one of the key priorities for the liberated regions.
The minister said the Aghdam Industrial Park had already become the country’s second-largest industrial park by the number of resident companies despite being established only recently.
“The combination of continued state investment and growing interest from the private sector, including foreign investors, is the development model we intend to continue supporting,” Jabbarov said.
