Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill and Baba Rahman all come into defence while Oscar starts in midfield for the trip to Israel.

Branislav Ivanovic, Kenedy, Kurt Zouma and Pedro drop out of the starting XI which defeated Norwich 1-0 on Saturday.

Chelsea are well placed to advance to the last 16 of the competition they won in 2012.

Mourinho's side are three points behind group leaders Porto, but the Premier League outfit host the Portuguese team at Stamford Bridge next time out in a potential top spot shootout.

The Blues are red-hot favourites to record a win in Israel tonight, with Maccabi yet to register a victory in their four matches in this season's Champions League group stage.

Mourinho said: "We haven't qualified yet but we are OK.

"Everything is in our hands. If we play like we have been doing, we can win.

"It's simple. If we lose, we are in trouble. If we draw, we can qualify in the last game. If we win, great chance to finish first."
