US ambassador on importance of joint Azerbaijan-Georgia projects

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, other transport projects implemented jointly by Azerbaijan and Georgia, along with the development of the region, are important for the energy security of Europe, as well as for the integration of Europe and Asia. Former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Acting US Ambassador to Georgia Ross Wilson said this at a signing ceremony for the construction of a port in Poti between the PACE group of companies and the OPIC of the US government, Azerbaijan State News Agency informs.

According to the diplomat, the largest in the region Baku International Sea Trade Port was built in Azerbaijan. The construction of the deep-water port of Anaklia continues in Batumi. A new sea terminal will be built in Poti.
