Why Facebook games might actually be a good thing
A new study from Concordia University published in Information, Communication and Society found that social network games such as CityVille or FarmVille help strengthen bonds and give families a way to interact. Researchers discovered games played over social networks could enhance connections within families even if they didn’t involve “direct communication”.The study’s lead author Mia Consalvo says this can be especially important for families separated by countries and continents.“Families that play together play the longest and have the greatest sense of duty to one another as players,” she said. “That behaviour could extend the life of these games beyond what it would be if only friends or strangers were playing together.”Bakudaily.Az
