Desfa clears regulatory hurdle for sale to Socar

Greece’s energy regulator, RAE, has given final approval for the certification of gas-grid manager Desfa as an independent operator for gas transportation, according to statement on RAE’s website.

RAE issued the certification after incorporating European Commission guidelines for compliance of Desfa’s sale to Socar with EU energy regulations.

RAE reserves right to annul Socar’s voting rights in Desfa if shareholder decisions endanger energy supply of Greece or the EU.

Socar has bought 66 percent of the Greek gas distributor Desfa.
