Azerbaijan sells $68.9m-fruit and vegetables in 1H

During the first half of 2014, Azerbaijan produced AZN 2.3 bln-output, up 5.8% from previous year, Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday.

He said plant-growing products amounted to AZN 973 mln, livestock products to AZN 1.3 bln, up 10.1% and 3% compared to a year earlier.

The share of agricultural products in GDP remained unchanged at 4.4%. Exports of fruit and vegetable during the first half of this year rose 27.9% to $68.9 mln.
