U.S. donut chain Krispy Kreme announced it has ended its partnership with fast-food giant McDonald’s after more than a year of cooperation.

In a company statement, Krispy Kreme cited high operational costs as the main reason for discontinuing the sale of its donuts at McDonald’s locations.

The partnership began in 2022 with a trial run at 160 McDonald’s restaurants in Kentucky. Following strong demand, the companies had planned to expand nationwide by the end of 2026.
