Thousands of demonstrators gathered outside Georgia’s parliament on Monday in a fresh wave of anti-government protests demanding the release of opposition figures and the resumption of EU integration talks.

Former President Salome Zourabichvili joined calls for unity, saying, “Our plan is unity — tomorrow and the day after, until we see results.”

Authorities accused the protesters of backing “foreign forces” and spreading “revolutionary sentiment.” Rustaveli Avenue was blocked, and a strong police presence secured the area.
Protests have rocked Georgia since November 2024, when the government suspended negotiations with the European Union.
