Turkish foreign minister to visit Syria for talks with President Sharaa

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit Syria on August 7 for a working trip, Syrian media reported, citing a source in the country’s foreign ministry.

During the visit, Fidan is expected to meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. The talks will reportedly focus on reviewing progress in bilateral relations since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime eight months ago, and on strengthening cooperation, including coordination on Syria’s reconstruction efforts.
