Zelensky to meet Trump and EU leaders in Washington amid pressure fears

 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders in Washington on Monday to discuss a potential peace deal with Russia, amid concerns that Trump may push Kyiv to accept terms favorable to Moscow.

Leaders from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, as well as top officials from the European Union and NATO, will join the talks. Their aim is to support Zelensky at a crucial diplomatic moment and avoid a repeat of the tense Oval Office encounter in February, where Trump reportedly criticized Ukraine’s stance.

According to the White House schedule, Trump will first hold a bilateral meeting with Zelensky at 8:15 p.m. Moscow time (1:15 p.m. EDT) in the Oval Office, followed by a joint session with European leaders at 10:00 p.m. MSK (3:00 p.m. EDT) in the East Room.

The summit comes days after Trump met with the Russian president in Alaska. Following that meeting, Trump told Fox News that Zelensky “should make a deal to end the conflict.”
