Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and U.S. Ambassador to Yerevan Kristina Kvien discussed prospects for reopening transport links in the South Caucasus, the Armenian government said on Thursday.

The two underlined the importance of agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on Aug. 8 and memorandums of understanding signed between the United States and Armenia, the statement said.

They also exchanged views on opportunities for developing bilateral Armenian-U.S. relations and on the prospects for unblocking regional communications, it added.
