Bloomberg says US has lost dominance in Asia-Pacific

Bloomberg says US has lost dominance in Asia-Pacific
05.09.2025 14:00

The United States has lost its dominant status in the Asia-Pacific, Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing China’s growing military power and shifting alliances in the region.

The report noted that China’s navy now surpasses the U.S. Navy in numbers and continues to roll out new aircraft, missiles and military technology at a rapid pace. Beijing displayed its strength during a large-scale military parade on Sept. 3, it said.

Bloomberg added that Washington’s allies are increasingly questioning U.S. reliability. During Donald Trump’s presidency, Australia and Japan moved closer to each other and are now prioritising bilateral cooperation, according to the report.
