Sandu’s party leads Moldova election with nearly 48% counted

Moldova’s ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), founded by President Maia Sandu, is leading the parliamentary elections with 47.83% of the vote after 95% of ballots were counted, the Central Election Commission said.

The pro-Russian Patriotic Electoral Bloc is second with 25.75%. It is followed by the pro-European “Alternative” bloc with 8.41%, Renato Usatîi’s “Our Party” with 6.27%, and “Democracy at Home” with 6.28%.

Turnout reached 52%, according to election officials. Abroad, PAS dominated in most countries except Russia, where the Patriotic Bloc secured 67% at two polling stations in Moscow.
