Ilham Aliyev receives John Deere’s President for Central Asia and the CIS

President Ilham Aliyev on 10 December received Csaba Leiko, President of John Deere for Central Asia and the CIS and CEO of John Deere Walldorf International.

During the meeting, the significant agricultural potential of Azerbaijan was highlighted, along with the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize and diversify the sector.

Leiko said John Deere is successfully operating in Azerbaijan and is interested in expanding cooperation. He presented a new project aimed at developing the country’s cotton industry and noted that the rapid development he observed in Baku left a “deep impression” on him.

The discussions covered opportunities for enhanced cooperation, including the establishment of an educational and training centre, capacity-building initiatives, irrigation and logistics projects, as well as the digitalization of the value chain in cotton and grain production.
