Leyla Aliyeva meets Albanian president

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met Albanian President Bayram Begaj in Tirana.

Begaj said an exhibition opened at the Albanian prime minister’s residence marked an important step in strengthening ties between the two countries.

Aliyeva said relations between Azerbaijan and Albania had moved beyond formal protocol towards broader cooperation.

The sides discussed improving logistical connectivity, including the launch of direct Baku–Tirana flights.

They also reviewed opportunities for year-round tourism and eco-tourism development, noting Albania’s roughly 300 sunny days annually, as well as the creation of joint travel routes linking Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo.

Following the meeting, the Albanian president visited the international art exhibition MAMA “Mother Nature” hosted at the prime minister’s residence.
