European gas prices rise 6%

European gas prices increased by 6% to reach $606 per 1,000 cubic meters, according to data from the London ICE exchange.

May futures on the TTF index opened trading at $600.6 (+5.4%) and later rose to $605.9 (+6.3%).

In March, average gas prices in Europe surged by 59% compared to February. The increase came amid an escalation of conflict in the Middle East, with prices exceeding the $600 mark for the first time since January 2023.
