WP: U.S. edges closer to full-scale war with Iran

The United States is moving closer to a full-scale war with Iran following the deaths of U.S. service members in Iraq and Jordan, The Washington Post reported, citing a U.S. official.

According to the report, the Pentagon is increasing the number of military aircraft deployed to the Middle East as the conflict intensifies. 

The newspaper said a wider U.S. military campaign could be constrained by dwindling stocks of air defence interceptors and long-range munitions, as well as limited capacity to deploy additional troops and aircraft to the region because of operational demands and combat losses. The official told The Washington Post that the United States lacks sufficient resources to conduct such operations without significant risk.
