Azerbaijani People’s Artist Tofiq Mirzayev dies in Israel

Azerbaijani People’s Artist, film director and screenwriter Tofiq Mirzayev has died in Israel at the age of 93, Azerbaijani media reported. 

Born in 1932, Mirzayev directed and wrote numerous feature and documentary films. In 2022, he was awarded the honorary title of People’s Artist and the Shohrat (Glory) Order for his contribution to the development of Azerbaijani cinema. 

The cause of death was not immediately disclosed.
