Pashinyan Declares Readiness to Face Public Execution on Republic Square if Citizens Demand
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he is prepared to be publicly hanged in Yerevan's Republic Square if that reflects the collective will of the people.
Speaking during a press briefing on August 27 in response to queries regarding opposition voters who did not demand mass detentions, Pashinyan noted that citizens retain the constitutional right to stage a revolution if they deem government policies erroneous.
"Let them take to the streets in the name of the assets of Kocharyan, Tsarukyan, the Kaluga oligarch, and the 'honestly earned' wealth of Serzh Sargsyan. I say this with full respect: let them remove us from office, reinstate their beloved and 'honest' Kocharyan, Sargsyan, and Tsarukyan, and hang us in Republic Square. I agree to this scenario. The decision of the people is non-negotiable for me," Pashinyan stated.
