Two Azerbaijani crew members killed in Black Sea drone strike on cargo ship TEDY
Two Azerbaijani nationals were killed and two others wounded after the foreign cargo vessel "TEDY" came under drone attack in the Black Sea on September 9, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
According to the ministry, Azerbaijani citizens Aslan Aliyev and Asim Gasimov lost their lives in the strike, while Imran Novruzov and Rauf Aliyev suffered injuries. The wounded crew members have been hospitalized in the Ukrainian port city of Chornomorsk.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry is liaising with the country's diplomatic representations and foreign partner authorities to facilitate consular support and repatriate the wounded after medical treatment, alongside procedures to return the bodies of the deceased back home.
The ministry expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families, wished a swift recovery to the injured, and reiterated its urgent advisory cautioning Azerbaijani nationals against traveling to, securing employment in, or working aboard vessels transiting active conflict zones and unstable maritime corridors.
