SOCAR begins drilling new exploration well in Nakhichvan

SOCAR has begun to drill a new exploration well at the Nehrem salt field in Nakhichvan. 

The projected depth of the new well No 4 at Tumbul block is 580 meters, SOCAR said.

Earlier, SOCAR drilled exploration wells No 1 and No 2 in order to create an underground storage facility. 

It is planned to drill two more exploration wells this year. The new storage facility’s capacity may reach 300mn cubic meters, SOCAR said earlier.
