BTC to carry 4.5 million tons of Kazakh oil this year

Kazakhstan is going to export 4.5 million tons of crude oil from its Tengiz deposit through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline this year, said Amangeldy Zhumbayev, the Kazakh ambassador in Baku.

The Central Asian nation resumed exports via the BP-led BTC link in October. 

Kazakhstan is the second largest oil producer in the former Soviet Union.

BTC partners include Azerbaijan’s state oil company Socar, Statoil, ExxonMobil and others.
