Authorities plan to demolish 10,000 houses in Baku

More than 10,000 small houses will be demolished in Baku’s Yasamal district as part of a state-funded development plan.

A working group has been established to implement the project under the leadership of Samad Islamov, first deputy head of the district executive authorities, according to movqe.az news website. 

According to the plan, the area north of the Academic Drama Theatre will be re-developed into a park.

Residents will receive compensation for their demolished houses.

The government has already allocated funds for the implementation of the project.
