Second well starts production at Socar's Umid field

Azerbaijan's state oil company Socar has commissioned a second production well at the Caspian field of Umid, the company said yesterday. 

The 6,309 meter well produces 800,000 cubic meters of gas and 200 tons of condensate a day, Socar said on its website. 

Socar announced the discovery of the field in 2011. It is estimated to contain 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of condensate, or light oil.
