Some everyday sexism about the Women's World Cup

Some everyday sexism about the Women's World Cup
02.07.2015 19:00
Sepp Blatter is keeping a decidedly low profile while the Women's World Cup takes place in Canada.

He will not be attending Sunday's final for "personal reasons" - marking the first time he has not handed the trophy to the tournament winners since he became president in 1998.

But by the look of this article on Fifa's website, he is at least getting involved by seemingly moonlighting as an online writer.

A talented goalscorer with a style that is very easy on the eye and good looks to match.

As people pointed out on Twitter, would Fifa have said the same thing about Lionel Messi, or Cristiano Ronaldo?

Blatter has a chequered relationship with women's football, infamously saying in 2004: "Let the women play in more feminine clothes like they do in volleyball. They could, for example, have tighter shorts."

Morgan's USA team will play the winner of Japan v England (at midnight tonight UK time) in Sunday's final.
