Russian air raid wipes out sick al-Qaeda terror cell leader

It which targeted the north western province of Idlib in Syria.

SOHR verified reports on websites by fanatic sympathisers that Firas was killed in the air raid.

Firas, dubbed ‘the Syrian’, was a well known figure who reportedly had lots of followers in the twisted terror group.

He gave commentaries released by the jihadi group on issues ranging from governance to religious law.

One insider said Firas was a founding member of the militant group who fought in Afghanistan in the 1980s.

He was a senior member of al-Nusra’s policy-making Shura Council.

The army defector, who originally came from Madaya, near Damascus, supported the imposition of Sharia law across the war-ravaged country.

He was killed alongside his son and Uzbekistan fighters in a strike that also targeted the militant group Jund al Aqasa in the village of Kafr Jales.

A fragile "cessation of hostilities" truce has held in Syria for over a month as the various parties try to negotiate an end to the country’s five-year-old civil war.

But the truce excludes ISIS and the al-Nusra Front – leaving allied forces to conduct air and land attacks against the depraved terror regimes.
