Body of National Hero Shahin Taghiyev repatriated from Sweden to Azerbaijan

The body of Azerbaijani National Hero Shahin Taghiyev, who passed away in the Swedish city of Malmö, arrived in Azerbaijan on Thursday evening.

The aircraft carrying the remains landed in Baku at 21:05 local time, according to APA news agency.

Taghiyev, a highly decorated veteran of the First Karabakh War, will be laid to rest on January 16 at the Military Memorial Cemetery (Second Alley of Honor) in Baku. A farewell ceremony is scheduled for Friday morning before the official burial.
