Dusty weather conditions have gripped Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

According to automated air quality monitoring stations, atmospheric dust concentrations currently exceed permissible sanitary limits by 2.2 times.

The Environmental Pollution Monitoring Group stated that the haze is transboundary, transported into Azerbaijani airspace by southeasterly atmospheric currents. Dependent on prevailing meteorological patterns, the dusty haze is expected to linger across the peninsula for the next two days.
