Georgia’s electricity imports from Azerbaijan drop by over 74%

In January-March 2022, Georgia imported 119.2 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan, 74.2% or 3.8-fold less than a year earlier, reported from the Georgian Electricity Market Operator (ESCO).

In the reporting period, Georgia imported 1,094.4 million kWh of electricity. The main electricity supplier of Georgia was Russia (836.8 million kWh).

Moreover, Azerbaijan exported 353.7 million kWh of electricity to Turkiye through Georgia.
