EU countries fill underground gas storage facilities by over 90%

Injection into underground gas storage facilities (UGS) in Europe continues, they are already more than 90% full, reported from the Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).

As of October 6, UGS were filled 90.12%, the daily increase was 0.24 percentage points. To date, about 97.39 billion cubic meters have been pumped into gas storage facilities.

According to EU rules, all countries by November 1 this year must fill the UGS at least 80%, and in subsequent years - 90%. The indicator of 80% has not yet been reached in Bulgaria (77.79%), Hungary (74.76%) and Latvia (53.13%). At the same time, only 18 out of 27 countries in the EU have underground gas storage facilities.
