Aliyev meets US energy envoy in Baku

President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Amos Hochstein, acting special envoy and coordinator for International Energy Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the long-term productive cooperation between Azerbaijan and the U.S. in the energy sector, and stressed the importance of the U.S. government’s support of Azerbaijan-initiated projects, state news agency Azartac said. 

Noting that the Southern Gas Corridor project is of great regional importance, Hochstein congratulated President Aliyev on the groundbreaking ceremony of the project.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.
