Turkish fighter jets are in Azerbaijan to conduct joint military drills with the Azerbaijani Air Force. According to a statement by the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry, nearly 30 Turkish fighter jets arrived in Azerbaijan to join military maneuvers approved by Azeri President İlham Aliyev.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said the two countries' air forces will carry out a three-stage military drill between Sept. 13 and Sept. 20. In the first phase of the drills, reconnaissance, intelligence, cooperation and compromise between special operation forces, air forces and air defense forces is expected to be practiced. The second phase of the military drill will be airborne forces practice.

The last phase suggests practices in using military systems such as tanks and missiles. Thirty-thousand soldiers, more than 250 armored vehicles, 150 missiles and cannons, 20 fighter jets and 15 aircraft have reportedly participated in the military drill so far.
