Jordan's lower house speaker meets Azeri envoy

Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Monday met with Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabir Mammad Oglu Aghabayov, and discussed regional issues as well as bilateral cooperation, Petra news agency reported.

Tarawneh expressed satisfaction over the outstanding level of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially the economic, parliamentary and cultural ones.

He also stressed the importance of activating the agreements signed between the two countries, stressing the need to coordinate the positions of the Jordanian and the Azerbaijani legislatures towards various issues of mutual interest.

The envoy expressed his country's willingness to enhance ties with the Kingdom, noting to the 40 Jordanian-Azerbaijani agreements recently signed in cultural, parliamentary and economic fields.
