US transportation commander visits Azeri president

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Paul Joseph Selva, head of the United States Transportation Command.

According to the state news agency Azartac, Aliyev and Selva said Azerbaijani-US relations were successfully developing in various areas, including the field of transport infrastructure. 

It was said that Azerbaijan has become an important country in terms of international transportation thanks to its favorable geographic location and economic success, the state news agency said.

Azerbaijan`s participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan and its contribution to cargo shipments to Nato forces in Afghanistan were praised during the meeting. The parties also discussed cooperation prospects, Azartac said.
