Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov has said that the intergovernmental commission of Pakistan and Azerbaijan will hold a meeting in October in Islamabad.

Ambassador Shikarov told a news service that a delegation led by Azerbaijani Minister for Defence Industry Yaver Jamalov will attend the meeting. He said that the military leadership from Pakistan will also visit Azerbaijan late in August.

He said that the further deepening of bilateral cooperation will be discussed during the visit. "Today, Pakistan exports weapons to many countries. Of course, Azerbaijan is interested in strengthening the army as it is in a state of war and its territories are under occupation,” he said.

“Azerbaijan produces new weapons and has already become arms exporter,” he said. However, there were some types of weapons that Azerbaijan does not produce and imports from abroad, the ambassador said. “It is cooperating with Pakistan in this field,” he said.
