Canada thanks Azerbaijan for help evacuating its citizens from Iran

Canada has expressed its gratitude to Azerbaijan for assisting in the evacuation of Canadian citizens from Iran amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to the statement, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone call with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand.

The ministers discussed the current security situation in the region. Anand thanked Azerbaijan for its support in facilitating the evacuation of Canadians from Iran.

Bayramov congratulated Anand on her recent appointment as foreign minister and wished her success. The two officials also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
