Israeli president receives new ambassador ahead of posting to Azerbaij

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has received diplomat Ronen Kraus ahead of his departure to begin his new post as Israel’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Kraus said on his X account (formerly Twitter).

Kraus is expected to arrive in Baku on July 28 to formally assume his duties.

The current Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan, George Deek, has held the position since 2018. He is expected to conclude his term in the coming weeks.
