The United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom have agreed to set the end of August as a deadline to reach a nuclear agreement with Iran, or else previously lifted sanctions will be reimposed, Axios reported on Monday, citing sources.

According to the outlet, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the foreign ministers of France, Germany and the UK reached the decision during a phone call.

If no deal is reached by then, the three European countries plan to trigger the snapback mechanism to reinstate all UN Security Council sanctions lifted under the 2015 nuclear accord.
