Armenian speaker blocks 2020 war report from parliament agenda

Armenian speaker blocks 2020 war report from parliament agenda
29.09.2025 17:00

Armenian parliament speaker Alen Simonyan has refused to put the 2020 war commission’s report on the agenda of the National Assembly’s upcoming session on September 30, the daily Joxovurd reported.

Simonyan argued that all legally mandated deadlines for publishing the commission’s findings had already expired, and under parliamentary rules he was not authorized to bring the document to the floor.

The decision sparked discontent from defense committee chairman Andranik Kocharyan, who led the temporary commission. He insisted that the speaker had no authority to block the report.
