Five years since the liberation of Fuzuli from occupation

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the liberation of the city of Fuzuli from Armenian occupation.

On October 17, 2020, during the counter-offensive launched on September 27, Azerbaijani forces regained control of the city. President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev announced the liberation in an address to the nation.

Aliyev also declared the liberation of several villages in the Fuzuli district, including Gochahmadli, Chuvarli, Pirahmadli, Musabeyli, Chimyan, Ishigli and Dedeli. By presidential decree, October 17 is celebrated as Fuzuli City Day.
