Pashinyan backs direct dialogue with Azerbaijan and Turkey
20.04.2026 16:30

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Yerevan favours direct communication with Azerbaijan and Turkey, arguing that messages passed through third countries can be distorted. He said Armenia would continue to prefer direct contacts while not ruling out third-party involvement where needed.

Pashinyan also said work was continuing toward the swift signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan and the reopening of Armenia’s land border with Turkey. He added that contacts among officials from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey should become part of everyday working relations.
