The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Turkey discussed bilateral and trilateral ties in Baku on May 26.

Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan, Rashid Meredov of Turkmenistan, and Ahmed Davutoglu of Turkey told journalists after the talks that they had signed the Baku Declaration for further cooperation between the three Turkic-speaking countries in the energy, transportation, culture, tourism, and education spheres.

The ministers decided to hold similar meetings twice a year. The next such meeting will be held later this year in the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat.

On May 27, Davutoglu will travel to Moscow for a preparatory meeting related to the Turkey-Russia High Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which was founded in 2010. The fifth meeting of the council will be hosted by Turkey later this year.
