Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to attend farewell ceremony for Khamenei

A delegation led by Azerbaijani parliament speaker Sahiba Gafarova will attend the farewell ceremony for former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, media reported.

According to the reports, the ceremony will be held on July 4-5 at the Mosalla complex, after which the body will be taken to the city of Qom.

Following the ceremony in Qom, Khamenei is expected to be buried on July 9 in Mashhad in line with his will.

Khamenei had served as Iran’s supreme leader since 1989 and was regarded as the country’s highest political and religious authority.
