Azerbaijan may help Ukraine identify missing persons

Azerbaijan may provide Ukraine with methodological assistance in conducting genetic research to help locate missing persons, Major General Rufat Aliyev, head of the Main Military Medical Department of the State Security Service, said.

He said Ukraine’s Health Ministry had submitted a request to Azerbaijan for such support.

“In response to the appeal from Ukraine’s Health Ministry, we informed them of the possibility of providing methodological assistance in conducting genetic research and organising training for specialists,” Aliyev said.

He said modern equipment, qualified specialists and the experience of the Genetic Research Centre under the State Security Service’s Main Military Medical Department created opportunities for international cooperation in the search for missing persons.
