BIG to cooperate with Burkina Faso in scientific research, academic exchange
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso has published information on its official Facebook page regarding the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), Report informs.
The document was signed on July 11 in Baku by BIG Executive Director Abbas Abbasov and Philippe Sandwidi, Director General of the Institute of Advanced International Studies (INHEI) of the Foreign Ministry of Burkina Faso, and has entered into force in accordance with international law, BIG noted.
The Memorandum defines the legal framework for long-term cooperation in scientific research, training, academic exchange, and strategic dialogue. It provides for organizing expert and researcher exchanges, implementing joint research projects, and hosting seminars, training programs, conferences, and expert discussions for INHEI students, diplomats, and faculty.
The signing of the document is viewed as an important step toward expanding BIG's activities in Africa.
Until now, the Baku Initiative Group had primarily signed cooperation agreements with political parties, liberation movements, and civil society institutions in various countries. The Memorandum signed with the Institute of Advanced International Studies under Burkina Faso's Ministry of Foreign Affairs marks the first time BIG has officially established institutional cooperation with a foreign government entity.
