Iranian source claims Strait of Hormuz has been fully closed

Iran’s armed forces have taken full control of the Strait of Hormuz and no vessel will be allowed to pass without Tehran’s permission, Fars news agency reported, citing an unnamed military source. The claim has not been independently verified.

The source said “immediate and decisive measures” would be taken against vessels attempting to cross the strait despite warnings.

The source also claimed that three oil tankers were stopped overnight after allegedly continuing along an illegal and dangerous route despite repeated warnings from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ naval forces.
