Azeri ambassador in Tehran meets senior Iranian MP

On February 4, Azerbaijan's ambassador in Tehran Javanshir Akhundov met Ramazanali Sobhanifar, a member of Iranian Parliament and chairman of the Iranian-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group.

At the meeting ambassador Akhundov and Ramazanali Sobhanifar touched on religious, historical and cultural ties between the two countries and discussed prospects for further development of bilateral cultural and economic relations. 

Speaking about the visit of the members of the Iranian-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary friendship group to Azerbaijan, Ramazanali Sobhanifar invited Azerbaijani colleagues to Iran.

Ambassador Akhundov highly appreciated the role of the inter-Parliamentary relations and particularly friendship groups in broadening of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

Javanshir Akhundov breifed  that the delegation, headed by Speaker of Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov will visit Tehran soon to attend the 9th meeting of the Heads of the Parliaments of OIC Member States, accompanied by the members of Azerbaijan-Iran Interparliamentary friendship group.
