Turkmen leader supports rapprochement with Azerbaijan

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has expressed his support for rapprochement between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

"Turkmenistan intends to carry on its efforts to develop good neighborly relations and constructive cooperation between the fraternal peoples of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan," he said at a meeting with chairman of the Board of Muslims of the Caucasus,  Allahshukur Pashazade, and the chairman of the Azerbaijani Council of Elders, Fattah Heydarov.

At the meeting broadcast by Turkmen television, Berdimuhamedow said that the peoples of the two countries share common history, culture and values.
