Concern about “poor health” of Iranian held in Baku

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has expressed concern about the health of an Iranian national arrested in Azerbaijan for alleged espionage and a plot to attack the Israeli embassy in Baku, the capital.The Azeri government is “responsible for Bahram Feizi’s poor health”, Marziyeh Afkham, a spokeswoman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said in Tehran on Dec. 22, according to Tehran Times.  “After numerous requests, Azeri officials authorized a consular meeting between the (Iranian) embassy and him,” Afkham said. “His heath was not satisfactory according to remarks by the consular representative.”Afkham urged the Azeri authorities to take measures to ensure his health and release. 

Feizi was arrested in October. He denies the charges.
