Azerbaijan withstanding strong Russian pressure, ruling party says

“Many ofthe countries like us are saying openly that they are coming under pressure,which they cannot withstand,” Novruzov said in reference to Ukraine. “We arefacing pressure that is two to three times as bigger, but we are not frightened.”

Novruzov,also a member of parliament, said Azerbaijan is stronger enough to pursueindependent policies.

“We arefully independent,” he said.
